India Nifty IT Index Rallies Over 1.6%, Recovers Intraday Lows

MUMBAI, INDIA – The Nifty IT index, a key benchmark tracking the performance of major information technology companies listed on India’s National Stock Exchange (NSE), registered strong gains during trading on April 15th.

As of 3:31:03 PM India Standard Time (IST), the index was trading at 33,275.30. This reflects a significant rise of +534.45 points, equating to a substantial +1.63% increase for the trading session.

This positive performance marks a notable recovery from the index’s previous close of 32,740.85. The intraday chart reveals a dynamic trading day for the Indian IT sector benchmark. After an initial peak shortly after the market opened, the index experienced a dip, reaching its lowest point around noon IST near the 32,950 level.

However, the Nifty IT demonstrated resilience, staging a consistent recovery throughout the afternoon session. The index steadily climbed back, erasing the earlier losses and pushing firmly into positive territory, nearing its intraday high as the afternoon progressed.

The Nifty IT index is closely watched as an indicator of the health and investor sentiment surrounding India’s globally significant technology services sector. Today’s upward momentum highlights strength in these key stocks on the NSE.
